Never let them see you sweat
It seems Amrit is growing tired and frustrated of of my "usual sophomoric games" and said we all know I can be a donkey (he called me something else, but I am not using that language here anymore). He challenges me as the Chief Strategy Officer to defend the honor of NAC and that my lack of putting forth an intellectual rebuttal on the values of NAC means I am insecure about NAC. Amrit, let me give you a lesson. This is my blog. What I write about, I decide. The reason I have not written what you would like to see, namely a defense of the benefits of NAC, is that I don't have to. As I said tongue in cheek, you are not an analyst anymore and I don't have to defend my company or its position to you. In fact no matter what I write I am not going to change your mind or position anyway because of your bias based upon your current gig.
Amrit, you may think I am sophomoric, but this ain't my first rodeo, cowboy. While we were arguing about bias a few weeks ago, it was already obvious to me that we are all biased, but what that bias would mean regarding interacting with each other was what I was thinking about. Amrit, what is to be gained engaging you on the benefits of NAC via the blog. We are going to trade 2 and 3 paragraph salvo's back and forth? I am not going to convince you, you are not going to convince me. You may think I need to convince the blog reading public about NAC? Wrong, I don't. People already get NAC. Yes there is confusion as the market shakes out, but I am not going to shake it out 2 to 3 paragraphs at a time on my blog. NAC is going to continue to drive revenue (and yes the revenue is dramatically different since last we talked, thanks for asking) and become widely adopted. Is it going to live up to all the hype, no of course not. Does it and will it provide real world benefits, yes it will. Will it continue to get better, as competition spurs improvement? Yes.
Amrit, I am sorry you are frustrated and letting it show. Like the commercial says, never let them see you sweat. I consider you a friend and don't mean to piss you off, but I don't dance to anyones beat but my own. The fact is, I am just finishing off a long whitepaper (you see, I do some work) called the "faces or phases of NAC", which does have what you are looking for. It discusses our complete strategy for what we call "complete NAC". It discusses all of the different types of NAC, their pros and cons, the technical challenges, etc. I will probably make it available on the StillSecure site in a week or two. I promise to mail you a courtesy copy pdf. I will link to it on the blog as well, for everyone out here, but it is not suitable for a blog post, unless I was going to break it up into 6 or 7 or more parts.
So Amrit my friend, I am not insecure about NAC. I am in fact confident about NAC in general and our Safe Access product in particular. I have written a boat load about NAC in the past and will again in the future. I do it at my leisure to educate people reading my blog, not because I have to convince, persuade or satisfy you.
